Abstract

|
The problems of the endocrine system in obstetrics are complicated and remain to be solved. In this paper tie principle parts of protein hormones and sex steroids which are produced in the placenta and also the functions of thyroid, adrenal and ovary in Pregnancy pituitary prolacitn, were briefly- described. It is evident that great controversy exists concerning utilization of hormonal assays to assess feta-placenta-cater. malfunction tests. Of the five hormones(HCG, HPL, progesterone, estradiol, estriol) which have been considered, the assay of estriol has the widest application.
